Anybody else think harvest moon should go back to the way it was? With the major focus on farming and relationships. They keep adding story but taking away from the farm. I miss my HUGE plot of land I hate this scattered plots thing they have going on. I'm sure if they focus on those 2 things they could make a great harvest moon game, after all, thats what got it popular in the first place. Have characters comment on each other, have a lil bit of drama like harvest moon 64 with Karen. Make the characters deeper then I like fishing and napping or weigh lifting and mining. (don't get me wrong I married them both.) but come on! Put the story in the peoples lives! Make improvments on the animals and upgrades!

I'm fine with everything that's been added, except for the continual shrinking of the farm plots. The total size in games like AP are what you need to start out with... and then it can get really, really big.
I don't get it. For making really fancy games, why do games like SNES, 64, and BtN have the bigger land? It gets the best of me

The older games had more focus on the actual farming. The handhelds games still hold a lot of that focus though. Look at M/FOMT, DS/C, IOH/SI. They all have large fields. Nooo clue about GrB and TV though. -shrugs-

for me AP would have been awesome if it wasn't for the long long time the story was okay because it was easy but i do wonder what changed from 64 that was a super awesome game because of the festivals and memorable villager, farming and no story the only game i think is close to 64 roots since i didn't play BTN I'll have to Say MM all other HM have kinda lost those roots except RFF

i agree with lexy, the handheld games are holding pretty true to their HM roots but the console games are starting to bother me. i'd definitely like to go back to a more simple HM, like AWL or HM64, where the characters have a little more depth and less "i married that one cause she's pretty and stuff".
i agree with HarvestMoon too, i'd love to see another Forget-Me-Not Valley game. AWL was one of my absolute favorites

I actually don't mind most of the characters on the console games (except for people like Maya, Julius, and the Harvest King) I've actually been able to enjoy them
But most of the ones in SI I thought were ok at best. Some of them I can't even say their name without falling asleep (Sabri-...zzzzz) However, I do agree that farming is much more important in the DS games, which is an up. And I like the sun system too

Make more games like AWL and DS and DS cute. Those were fun games, in depth storylines, and your kid at least got to teenage stage. They were challanging, and still fun. Some may disagree, but I love games that take place in Forget-Me-Not-Valley. What also is funny is that they don't have a real government. Thomas is the MINERAL TOWN mayor. They have no mayor. LOL.

I like AWL but the days took soo long and there wasn't much to do
I never could get in SI idk I just like going at my own pace and not having to collect all those stones or whatever. It took up most of my day and I hate those over cartoony drawn characters and the sun system (bleh) but the training your animals was real fun. DS cute was awesome even tho it froze and I was scared it get stuck every time I played. ToT was nice but the plot of land was too small I missed having my whole field growing yams in fall in FOMT those sprites watered/harvested them so fast it was creepy! AP was fun too but I didn't like that the harvest king couldn't live with you *he himself is awesome tho* and again small plot of land.
